On 22 June 2026, we celebrated a full day at Great Northern, opening the doors to 52 new rooms and suites.
Later this summer, we will also welcome a new universe, “Great Northern Performance”, as well as the brand-new “Gallery”
– a new architectural setting for parties, events and special gatherings.
Summer 2026 will therefore be the end of one of the biggest expansions in Great Northern’s history.
And yet it will all feel exactly as you know it.

The new hotel building is directly connected to the spa and interacts closely with the existing setting and the landscape around us. The architecture is shaped with respect for nature and invites it in close. The view is wide and uninterrupted. The transition between inside and outside is fluid.
The materials are drawn from nature’s own palette – wood, clay and natural stone – selected for their strength, patina and longevity. They age beautifully. They last a long time. They can be maintained.

The 52 new rooms and suites have been created with one clear ambition: to maintain a sense of calm.
Each unit has wide, uninterrupted and uninterrupted views of the landscape. The layout is open and well-proportioned, so the spaces feel natural and harmonious. The ceiling and floor move across functions, creating calm and coherence rather than compartmentalization. And it doesn’t matter that the size is something special either. 35 to 65m2 for yourself. In connection with the hotel opening, we are expanding our spa and treatment facilities with new rooms, expertise and a stronger focus on health, recovery and holistic wellbeing. We call it Great Northern Performance.
