“Where should I go when I arrive at Great Northern?”
STAYING GUESTS:
Whether you are visiting us on a golf or spa stay, simply go to the front desk in the main building.
The main building is the building you see at the end of the road when you turn onto Great Northern Avenue.
There are signs from the parking lot – look for “Restaurant” which is located in the main building.
This applies to golf stays, spa stays and general hotel stays.
SPASTS:
There are signs from the parking lot to Great Northern Spa, but the building is to the right of the main building. Please follow the signs marked “Spa”.
If you have booked a spa stay or an overnight stay, please go to the reception in the main building — follow the signs marked ‘Restaurant’.
RESTAURANT GUESTS:
If you have booked a table at Restaurant EAT, simply go directly to the main building where we are ready to give you a warm welcome.
The main building is at the end of the road when you turn onto Great Northern Avenue. There are signs from the parking lot – look for “Clubhouse”.
GOLF GUESTS:
Since September 2023, we have gathered all golf activities under one roof within our “Golf Clubhouse.”
You will find signage from the parking lot directing you straight to the Golf Clubhouse — simply follow the signs marked “Golf Clubhouse.”
If you have booked a golf stay or overnight accommodation as part of your visit, please check in at the reception in the main building — see more under “Hotel Guests” on this page.
OBS! We kindly ask all guests to check in upon arrival so we can ensure your arrival has been registered. This applies whether you are a golf, spa, hotel, or restaurant guest.
All guests at Great Northern can park for free.
Parking Information:
Disabled Parking: 2 spaces
Standard Parking: 350 spaces
EV Charging Stations: 8 spaces
Bicycle Parking: Available in designated areas near the parking facilities
Day Guests
Parking for day guests is available exclusively in the parking lot located approximately 100 meters from the main building.
Hotel Guests
Hotel guests may park both in the main parking lot or directly in front of their hotel room, where spaces are provided for your convenience.
Please note:
Parking in front of the clubhouse or main building is not permitted.
Drop-off and Pick-up Drop-off and pick-up are permitted in the roundabout in front of the clubhouse. However, vehicles may not be parked or left unattended in this area.
Motorhomes:
It is not allowed/possible to stay overnight in motorhomes at Great Northern.
Please refer to Kerteminde Harbor, where there is great accommodation for motorhomes with both electricity and other facilities available.
GENERAL INFO:
- Age Limit – Minimum 18 years
- Valid photo ID must be presented upon request by staff
- Entrance to Great Northern Spa is only possible with prior booking and payment via our online booking system.
(This is to ensure that there are never more than 30 guests inside at any one time — and to reduce no-shows, allowing others to enjoy the available spots.) - You are not allowed to bring your own food and drinks at Great Northern Spa.
- Personal belongings should be locked in your personal locker — storage is at your own risk.
- Upon arrival, bathrobes, towels, and slippers will be provided.
- We recommend leaving your mobile phone in the changing room — if not, please set it to silent.
- Photography is allowed, but must be done discreetly.
- Coffee, tea, ice water, and fresh fruit are served complimentary in the Spa and Treatment Lounge.
As a guest, you must familiarize yourself with the Great Northern Spa ‘Rules of Order’ prior to your visit to the Spa area.

AQUA SPA
- Everyone must follow the washing rules before, during, and after their visit.
- Swimwear must be worn at all times.
- Please hang towels and robes on the designated hooks.
- Use of mobile phones/tablets in wet areas is at your own risk.
- All use of baths and pools is at your own risk.
- We recommend drinking plenty of water before, during, and after your visit.
TREATMENTS:
- Spa Experiences:
We recommend booking your spa experience in advance. It is also possible to book upon arrival, but only subject to availability. - Spa Treatments:
All treatments must generally be booked in advance. - We recommend relaxing in the Spa Lounge for 15–30 minutes before your treatment.
- Treatment times start when your therapist welcomes you and end when they escort you back to the Spa Lounge.
- We recommend resting for 15–30 minutes in our Spa Lounge after your treatment.
- Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before your treatment; otherwise, full payment will be charged.
- If you arrive late for a treatment, the duration of your treatment will be shortened accordingly.

For players with a course license – and a playing handicap of 36 or lower.

GN III – HCP 15 or above (5400 meters)

ACADEMY COURSE (9 holes – Short Course)
- For players with a playing license – handicap 54 or lower.
- To ensure proper golf etiquette, players with a handicap over 37 and without coach permission must be accompanied by a player with a handicap of 37 or lower.
FURTHER INFORMATION
- Spectator/Caddie Rules on the Course
At Great Northern, players are generally allowed to have a single spectator or caddie with them during the round. This is regulated for the sake of safety and the playing experience on the course. If there is a need to bring more than one spectator or caddie, an exemption can be applied for. It is important to contact Great Northern in advance to arrange this.
- Buggies are not allowed in the rough. Around the clubhouse and training facilities, buggies must be kept on the paths at all times.
- Regarding dress code in the club and on the courses, we ask guests to use common sense.
Please avoid wearing workout or workwear.
- During busy periods, situations may arise where threesomes, twosomes, or singles are grouped together. This is done to improve the flow on the course and increase the availability of tee times.
- Water refill toilets after the 4th, 13th, and 17th holes on the Great Northern Course.
- There may be days when the course is closed due to greenkeeping work or events.
- You can purchase sandwiches, fruit, snacks, and beverages from the refreshment cart, which regularly travels around the course.

FAQ
- Can I bring my dog and other pets on Great Northern?
You are welcome to bring dogs and other pets to our outdoor terrace in connection wiht the restaurant, as well as all outdoor areas in general. However, pets are not allowed on the golf courses, in hotel rooms, the restaurant, the spa area, the reception, or other indoor facilities.
- Is it possible to stay overnight in my own motorhome?
Unfortunately, it is not allowed/possible to stay overnight in a motorhome at Great Northern.
We kindly refer to Kerteminde Harbor, where there are wonderful accommodation options specifically for motorhomes – with both electricity and other facilities included.
- The Great Northern Avenue gate is closed – what should I do?
As a hotel guest at Great Norhtern, you can always use your hotel room key/chip to open the gate. You will find a small chip-scanner located to the left of the gates.
- I would like to borrow a bicycle – is that possible?
You are always welcome to borrow bicycles at the reception — free of charge. We can also assist you with cycling routes around the area or guide you to nearby attractions and more.
- An acute illness/situation has occurred – what do I do?
In case of acute and serious illness or life-threatening incidents, please contact the reception or call 1 1 2. A defibrillators are available at the reception and at Great Northern Academy (Driving Range).
- I have forgotten something at home — can you help?
Yes, we will always do everything we can to assist with any issue you may have during your stay with us.
We offer a wide range of personal care products, toothbrushes, chargers, adapters, and much more.
Please contact the reception — we are ready to help you.
- Is there a minibar in the room – and is it free?
Coffee, tea, and water are complimentary, and we’re happy to refill them as needed.
Additionally, you will find various refreshments and snacks — these will be charged at checkout.
Prices are listed in the room.
- How do I open the terrace door?
The terrace door opens by lifting the small “split” located by the handle.
Please note: the door locks automatically if it is fully closed.
If you accidentally get locked out, please contact the reception — we will assist you immediately.
