June 2026 will be a very special time here at Great Northern as we open the doors to 52 new rooms and suites.
Later we will also welcome a large-scale expansion of our spa universe, as well as the brand new “Gallery”
– a new architectural setting for parties, events and special collections. But not in the same time frame as the hotel construction.
Summer 2026 will therefore mark the end of one of the biggest expansions in Great Northern’s history.
And yet it will all feel exactly as you know it.
Same tranquility.
Same nature.
Same uncompromising approach to quality, materials and presence.

The new hotel building is directly connected to the spa and interacts closely with the existing setting and the landscape around us. The architecture is shaped with respect for nature and invites it in close. The view is wide and uninterrupted. The transition between inside and outside is fluid.
The materials are drawn from nature’s own palette – wood, clay and natural stone – selected for their strength, patina and longevity. They age beautifully. They last a long time. They can be maintained.

The 52 new rooms and suites have been created with one clear ambition: to maintain a sense of calm.
Each unit has wide, uninterrupted and uninterrupted views of the landscape. The layout is open and well-proportioned, so the spaces feel natural and harmonious. The ceiling and floor move across functions, creating calm and coherence rather than compartmentalization. And it doesn’t matter that the size is something special either. 35 to 65m2 for yourself. There’s room to share. And to be yourself. There’s room for everyone.
