Great Northern Golf

Before Your Round

Let the preparation begin today and make the most of your golf experience in Kerteminde. We’ve gathered all the practical information in one place, so all you have to do is relax and enjoy your golf experience.

Before the round

ARRIVAL & PARKING
We are currently in the process of expanding our parking area. Please use the temporary walkway from the parking lot to the golf reception. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding. There is free parking in the area – including disabled spaces and electric car bays (Clever & Spirii).

WELCOME & CHECK-IN
To ensure the best possible experience, we recommend that you arrive at least one hour before your tee time. Upon arrival, please confirm your tee time at the Golf Clubhouse at the Driving Range, where our staff will be ready to welcome you and hand out your scorecard. Simply follow the signs marked “GOLF” from the parking lot. If you have booked a golf stay or accommodation, please go to the main building and follow the signs marked RESTAURANT.

CHANGING
The restaurant building has changing facilities with toilets, lockers, shower facilities, towels, shampoo and other practical necessities. There are also four toilets, one of which includes a shower, located in the Golf Clubhouse. However, we recommend that our guests primarily use the changing facilities at the restaurant as these are closest to the end of the round.

RESTAURANT
Our restaurant offers dishes prepared with local ingredients and a focus on high quality.

Table reservation
If you want to enjoy lunch or dinner in connection with your round of golf, we recommend that you reserve a table before arrival. The last time to order food is at 21:00. If you have allergies or special needs, please inform us at least 2 days before arrival so our kitchen can accommodate you.

[Book table here]

TRAINING FACILITIES
Our training facilities are available before the round, and there is free access to practice balls on the Driving Range. When the weather permits, you can tee off on grass, while in the winter or in case of persistent rain, you can use the covered boxes with mats. On the putting and chipping greens, please use your own balls.

For personal training, contact academy@greatnorthern.dk to book lessons with one of our trainers.

PURCHASES FOR THE ROUND
We recommend buying a buggy as the course is relatively long to walk and there are large differences in altitude, which makes the round more comfortable.

  • Buggy: 400 DKK (700 DKK for 2 rounds on the same day)
  • Electric trolley: 150 DKK
  • Pull-trolley: 50 DKK
  • Rental kit (TaylorMade): 500 DKK

We recommend that you follow the instructions on the screen in the buggy during the round. During course maintenance, some holes may be marked as “Cart Path Only” and we ask you to respect these instructions.

PROSHOP

Adjacent to the reception in the Golf Clubhouse you will find our Proshop, which offers an exclusive selection of golf equipment, clothing and accessories. Here you have the opportunity to buy a souvenir to remember your visit.

FLOW & MERGING OF BALLS
A typical playing time is approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes for a 4-ball.
To ensure a comfortable pace of play and increase the availability of start times, 1-, 2- and 3-balls will be combined into larger groups as much as possible.

RIMFROST & COURSE CLOSURE
In case of frost or maintenance, the course may be temporarily closed; the course staff will determine the opening time. Ongoing maintenance and events may also result in temporary closures.

SAFETY
For emergencies on the course, please contact the golf reception. On the course, this should only be used for emergencies – in life-threatening situations call 1-1-2.
Defibrillators are located at the reception in the clubhouse, restaurant, Driving Range and in the course service car, so you and your fellow players can feel safe throughout the round.
During thunderstorms it is recommended to seek shelter in the toilets on the course, which act as shelters. It is your own responsibility to seek shelter and ensure that you stay safe during storms.

However, dogs and other pets are not allowed on the golf courses, hotel rooms, restaurant, spa, reception and other indoor facilities.

GOLF etiquette
To ensure an optimal experience for you as a guest and for those who come after, we kindly ask you to follow the golf etiquette:
We do not encourage putting turf in place. Instead, throw the turf into the high rough and fill the turf holes with the sand mixture from the bottles set up on the course.

LOCAL RULES

  1. All yellow, red and blue poles/plates, distance markers, manhole covers, trash cans, signs and benches are non-removable obstacles. Mitigation according to Rule 16.1.
  2. When playing on hole 9 on the Great Northern Course
If a player does not know if the ball is in the penalty area on Hole 9, the player may play a provisional ball following one of the 3 relief options in Rule 17.1d or in the drop zone. When determining whether the provisional ball becomes the ball in play:
    – if the original ball is found outside the penalty area, continue with the provisional ball.
    – if the original ball is found in the penalty area within 3 minutes – the player may choose to either play the original ball as it lies or continue with the provisional ball.
    – if the original ball is not found within 3 minutes or it has become a fact or a virtual certainty that it is in the penalty area – the player must continue with the provisional ball.
